Painting and learning origami with Japanese artist Ouma. Kinderland workshop cycle – Workshop nr.4

Sighisoara, 24.08.2017 –

As well you know, every week Kinderland comes up with new and interesting ideas for their workshops. This week was no exception. We collaborated with Ouma, a Japanese artist, on her project SORA- Make ONE ART together. Each kid created a unique piece of art that is going to be a part of a big art creation.

Ouma: “The motif of my work is cells. My aim is to create an opportunity for viewers to develop their healing abilities by using their senses to experience my art.”

Kids enjoy tasks with no rules, it makes their creativity bloom. And knowing that their small drawing is going to be a part of something much bigger makes them feel important. They were given a lot of different kind of paints and they managed to mix everything and make it looks amazing.

Everyone was fascinated by the art of origami but kids where much quicker to pick it up and they even helped teaching it to our volunteers. They learned how a small paper bird can fly and it made them so happy. Simple things can sometimes make the biggest impact. All the kids loved Ouma, they had an incredible connection with her and they understood each other even if they didn’t speak the same language.

It was a joyful and colorful afternoon, filled with laughter and love!

Our workshop cycle has come to an end. Stay tuned though, for more exciting activities together!
