Sighisoara, 11.09.2017 – New year, new life.
Some people think that the actual beginning of a new year is not January, but September. September marks the end of holidays, new plans start to be made, new challenges face us and, for as long as you have the right age, a new school year starts.
Yesterday was the school opening day here in Sighisoara. Parents, teachers, and (of course) students gathered all together in the halls for the opening ceremony. And, since our volunteers are always involved in the community life, they surely couldn’t miss the chance to be there too.
Starting a new year is always a turning point. You have all the good memories and experiences from the previous months, and at the same time you are filled with expectations and hopes for the days to come. Our expectations and hopes are to keep up the good work and plan new, exciting activities that will get the youngsters away from couch and tv in their lazy afternoons and get them to socialize, empathize and bond with each other and with us. Yesterday, on kids’ faces, you could see all the enthusiasm that accompanies a new beginning. We share all that enthusiasm and we will put some more of our own.
