“Transylvanian Civil Service” (TCS) is in the forefront promoting Sighisoara, but at the same time urging young people to engage in activities based on ecological education through non-formal methods, interactive workshops and various activities designed to increase the degree of responsibility towards the environment.
The project was formed by 2 EVS stages of 5 months each and hosted in total 16 volunteers from Italy, Spain, Turkey and Estonia.
1 October 2015 – 1 March 2016 and 1st March – 1st August 2016
The aim of this project was to make life in Sighișoara better, more interesting and attractive. The project included four different fields.
Firstly, we will promote Sighișoara historical buildings on the Internet, so tourist from Romania and abroad know more about the city. We have to collect information about the buildings and promote them online. For example we make interviews with local people in order to get more knowledge about tourist attractions here.
Secondly, Green Sighișoara, which means making campaigns to raise knowledge about respecting the environment and green lifestyle. We will prepare a video, some posters and have workshops in order to demonstrate how to recycle old materials and make something new out of them.
The third part will be about rising awareness and promoting the opportunity to take part of Erasmus+ and European Voluntary Service. It is for the youngsters to have more opportunities to travel, learn new languages and cultures after finishing high school. We can be the examples for the students and encourage them to follow the same path.
Last, but not the least we want to introduce our culture and teach the locals our languages. For that, we organize fun and creative language workshops. You have a chance to learn basic level of Estonian, Spanish, Italian or Turkish.
We use non-formal education methods which include for example role playing, games, dancing or watching videos.
